"What I have to say about Dr. Estêvão's work, in the latest one, is that he was a person who surprised me. A person who sits with you and looks at you and explains everything, and medicine needs people like that because you doctors and future doctors have to pass on that confidence to your patients, a confidence to the patients, and explain what is happening to us. Dr. Estêvão simply explained everything I needed. I was pregnant, he explained the care to me, asked whether my husband was a smoker or hypertensive, and I said yes, he was a smoker and hypertensive. He ordered tests for my husband and treatment to quit smoking. So he gave me all this assistance. The experience I had at that moment with Dr. Estêvão was very good, not only with me but also with the other patients and people in my family; if you talk to all of them they will say the same thing. I loved the little handouts he gives, and I also went on the sites, which have many explanations. As an oral hygiene assistant, I saw how he pointed out to me what they were looking for in the health centers. So I can only thank him. My name is (...), I live here in Itapoã. In December 2005 I had a very calm pregnancy and had a boy called (...). He went through several months as a normal baby until, at 4 months, an abnormal red patch began to appear. My husband and I took him to the dermatologist and it turned out he had atopic dermatitis, for which all the doctors only prescribed an ointment, and we would have to keep that child like that, we had to live with our son. My husband and I spent practically 4 years with this skin flaking. Before that, when he was 2 years old, I got a place at the HuB hospital, and when I got care at HuB it was wonderful, and when he started losing fluid from his body the hospital took him in, admitted him, and cared for him with excellent treatment. A wonderful service at HuB from 15 to 15 days; the dermatologist gave Luiz toys. I practically lived in the hospital with him more than at home. Over the years I used a lot of Protopic and solid petroleum jelly. He had his whole body oily; I received many donations from the hospital. We were very well welcomed at the time, there was a playroom, which was wonderful. When he was 4 years old, at the time my work was at a company that had health insurance, my son caught a bacterium called viral herpes along with atopic dermatitis and had to be in the ICU. And suddenly that herpes bacterium went to the heart valve and he had to be in the ICU; they did a catheterization because he became very fragile, he couldn't take the procedures anymore. I made a promise to the Lord that if He healed my son I would be serving God, and at that moment God healed my little son and he improved a lot and I never again needed to go back to the hospital. Today he is 15 years old, his skin is wonderful, he is an excellent son. I am very grateful to the HuB team and have nothing to complain about regarding the HuB team, everyone treated me very well. Since 2009 I have never again had to go to the hospital to treat my son for atopic dermatitis.
