How to create your Lattes CV

In a few minutes you create the official CV of students and researchers in Brazil and copy its link to paste into the application form. The CV can stay almost empty for now.

← Back to the selection process

What it is

The official CV for anyone who studies and does research in Brazil. It is maintained by CNPq, a federal government agency that supports research. Scholarships, calls for proposals, and selection processes usually ask for the Lattes.

What you will paste into the form

The address of your CV, in this format:

lattes.cnpq.br/1234567890123456

Have at hand

Your CPF, an ID document (the data must match the document), your email, and a photo of your face.

I already have a Lattes. Where do I find my link?

  1. Open your CV

Go to lattes.cnpq.br and open your CV. If you don't remember the number, use the page's search ("Search CV") and look for your name.

  2. Find the address

At the top of the CV you will see the "Lattes ID", with 16 digits, and the "Address to access this CV". Copy that address, which starts with lattes.cnpq.br/.

  3. Paste into the form

This is the link that goes in the Lattes field. The 16-digit ID alone is also accepted.

Do not create a second CV. If you already have one, just check that it is up to date.

I don't have a Lattes: create one now

  1. Abra a Plataforma Lattes

Go to lattes.cnpq.br and look for the "Register new CV" option. On some screens it is called "Create CV".

  2. Create your access

Depending on the screen, access is through your gov.br account, your CPF, or email and password. Enter your full name, CPF, and date of birth exactly as they appear on your ID. Use an email you will keep for years.

  3. Fill in what is required

Personal details, a photo, and an address (it can be your home address). When you finish each tab, click "Next". You can complete the rest later.

  4. Enter your undergraduate program

Under "Academic education", register your program (Medicine, Nursing, or other), the institution (for example, University of Brasília), and the year you started. That is enough for now.

  5. Save and submit

Click "Save". If the screen shows the "Send CV to CNPq" option, click it as well, so that the public version is updated.

  6. Copy your link

Once created, the CV has a "Lattes ID" of 16 digits at the top. Your link is lattes.cnpq.br/ followed by that number. Write it down to paste into the form.

Check before you paste. Open your link in an incognito browser window. If the CV appears, the link is correct.

Common questions

My CV will be empty. Is that a problem?

No. The form only needs the Lattes to exist. After you join the group, the CV gets filled in with your work.

The website screen is different from what you describe.

CNPq's screens change from time to time. Follow the function of each step (create the CV, fill in the data, save, copy the link), even if the button's name is slightly different.

I forgot my Lattes password.

Use the password recovery option on the login screen. If you log in with your gov.br account, recover the password through gov.br.

I'm stuck on a step. Who do I ask?

Write to escoladepacientes@gmail.com telling us which step you stopped at. Don't leave it to the last minute.
